Matt Sevarino began his career in real estate in early 2021. As a 15+ year resident of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Matt’s dear friends and long-time Lakewood Ranch REALTORS® Jim and Donna Soda took him under their wing as an introduction to the real estate industry. “Having the best-of-the-best at my fingertips for consult was of significant value to me in being able to provide value to my customers,” he says. “I had the benefit of immediate experience flowing through my veins as opposed to waiting years for it to settle in.” As a global advisor with the Lakewood Ranch office of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, Matt’s focus is in Manatee and Sarasota counties both with placing customers into existing homes and new construction, as well as in listing homes in the area. “I’ve spent a great deal of time with every builder in the Ranch understanding their differences, capabilities, quality points, and the distinctive finishes and options they offer (and don’t offer) to customers.” Matt explains, “I don’t look at the connection of a customer with a builder as a ‘hand-over’ process. Because I am recommending the builder and the neighborhood, the build is a reflection of me as well. I stay involved through inspections, serving as a liaison between the parties and an advocate for my customers. I enjoy visiting the properties periodically to take pictures and gather any information I can so that my out-of-town customers stay informed on their builds.” For the last 20 years, Matt worked in international finance at General Electric culminating with living in London and serving as CFO-Europe for GE Energy’s Field Service division. Matt’s responsibilities have stretched over 75 countries across 5 continents with staff in excess of 500. His experience and love for different cultures allows for a unique understanding of customer needs from financial, choice of neighborhood, and residence-type standpoints. A desire to reduce the heavy travel load led Matt to dive headfirst into the local real estate industry. “I love this area and enjoy seeing the fruits of my labor 10 feet from my home instead of 10,000 miles away from it.” An avid golfer, Matt is familiar with the area’s best public and private golf courses including Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club, the Esplanades, Legacy, Waterlefe, and Lakewood National just to name a few. Having been a former soccer player and coach in the area, Matt is also familiar with various competitive youth sports programs that the area counties have to offer to families. A particular passion of Matt’s is carpentry and home improvement. “My father and grandfather repaired everything themselves…and with high quality. They demanded I learn and do the same.” Whether listing your home or looking for the perfect one to purchase, Matt has an eye for what may need to be improved and with what to be concerned. “A home is likely the largest investment we’ll all make in our lives. My customers deserve a caring and skillful eye to look out for them.” Matt and his wife, Lora, moved to Lakewood Ranch from Rocky Hill and Farmington, CT in 2008. Both graduates of the University of Connecticut, they are Huskies fans through and through. However, with sons enrolled in the international baccalaureate program at Southeast High School and the University of Central Florida, they are big fans of the Seminoles and Golden Knights as well. “We fell in love with Manatee and Sarasota counties immediately,” Matt says. “Its offerings to people across the age spectrum is simply unmatched anywhere in the country.”
